4 days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Itinerary:

Day 1Marrakech - High Atlas - Ouarzazate - Amridil Kasbah - Roses valley - Dades Valley

We will begin our 4 Days Morocco Desert Tour by crossing the Atlas Mountains, we will pass through the part of “Tizi NTichka”, and we will stop to take photos and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views, Our journey goes on to Ouarzazate, considered the great gate of the desert. We will head towards Skoura Oasis through the road of thousands Kasbahs, where we will visit Amridil Kasbah, see a huge valley with a small oasis and hundreds of ancient fortifications. Likewise, we will reach the Roses valley. Then after 50 Minutes drive we’ll arrive at our destination “Dades valley” where we’ll stay overnight at an authentic lodge with Dinner & Breakfast.

Day 2Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Berber Villages - Erg Chebbi Merzouga (Camel ride & overnight in a desert camp)

After the breakfast at the hotel, We will depart on the 2nd day of our 4 Days Morocco Desert Tour to Todra Gorge across the Berber villages. We will stop to look at the beautiful Todra valley, which is full of palm trees, before we get to Todra Gorges, which is one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in Morocco. Here we will have a short walk through its grey and pink high canyons. After that, we will head to Tinjdad and Touroug where we will have lunch. We will then head to Erfoud, which will feel like the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet.

Our 4 Days Marrakech Desert Tour goes on to the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Once you get to the Merzouga Desert, you will go on a camel ride for about 1H30 min to reach the desert camp. During the Camel trekking adventure, you will take a break in the middle of the dunes to watch the sunset. After the sun goes down you will continue to the camp where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea, dinner, campfire, and music party, spend the night at a Merzouga luxury desert camp, dinner & breakfast included

Day 3Merzouga desert - Rissani - Nkoub - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate

Today, please keep in mind that we have a long drive back from the Merzouga desert to Marrakech. You will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the orange sand dunes. After your breakfast in the camp, we will head back to Merzouga from the desert camp by 4wd vehicle or camel ride depending on your choice.

We’ll head back directly to Marrakech, On to the final leg of our tour where we’ll travel through Nqob before arriving in Draa Valley. Later again at the city of Ouarzazate. We’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch. Finally, keep going back to Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains, we will reach Marrakech at approximately 8:00 PM, where our Marrakech Desert Tours 3 days ends.

Day 4Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Telouat - Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll leave the hotel and head to the famous Kasbah Taourirt and Studios of Ouarzazate. After seeing these amazing places, we’ll drive towards Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE, plenty of scenes from some movies such as “Gladiator”, “The Jewel of the Nile” and series such as “Game of Thrones” were filmed there. Following a walking tour inside the Kasbah, we will go back to Marrakech through the High Atlas mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop at places like Kasbah Telouet, which is one of the oldest Kasbahs in the High Atlas. From there, we will continue our journey to Marrakech, where our 4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga ends.

What is the distance between Marrakech and Merzouga?

The direct drive from Merzouga to Marrakech is 554 km and should have a drive time of around 9H. Therefore, it will be broken up into two days as you will spend the first night in the Dades Valley or Ouarzazate. But, on the last day of our 3 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, you will have a direct drive back to Marrakech with few stops along the way.
